Little Leo the lion cub loved playing by the shimmering river. He had a soft, golden mane and big, curious eyes.
One day, while exploring, he met a small, scared bunny named Pip. Pip was trembling, hiding behind a big, leafy fern.
Leo approached gently. 'Are you alright?' he asked in a warm voice.
Pip peeked out. 'I'm lost,' he whispered sadly. 'I can't find my family.'
Leo felt a warm feeling inside. He remembered his mother always telling him to be kind to others, and to help when they need it.
‘Don't worry,’ Leo said softly. ‘I'll help you find your way home.’
Leo carefully followed the faint tracks in the soft ground, and soon they found the path leading to a big burrow.
Pip's eyes lit up. He darted into the burrow, and a moment later, a mother bunny popped her head out.
‘Pip!’ she cried, ‘Thank you, kind lion cub!’
Leo felt so happy and warm from inside. He had made a new friend and helped someone in need.
Pip hopped over and nuzzled Leo’s soft mane, a sign of great gratitude.
Leo watched the sun set over the river, painting the sky in beautiful hues of orange and pink. He knew he had done a good deed. And that feeling was even more special than any toy.
Leo and Pip promised to be friends, and to always look out for each other.
The next day Leo and Pip played near the river again. They learned that being kind and helpful made everyone happy and more willing to share, bringing comfort to the world around them.
Leo knew that a little kindness could help everyone feel safe and happy. Remembering that, Leo closed his eyes to prepare for a restful night, feeling grateful for the new friend he had made.
Sleep now, little ones. You are all good and kind just like Leo.
Be kind, be brave, and let your kindness guide your every day, just like Leo.
Sweet dreams.
