Cosmo was a little grey cat with very big dreams. Every night, Cosmo tried to find the *perfect* spot for his bedtime. One night, he decided the top of the bookshelf was it! It looked so comfy and high up, like a king’s throne.
He stretched and jumped… but oh dear! He didn’t quite reach. He tried again, and again, but the bookshelf was just too tall. Cosmo’s whiskers drooped. He felt a little bit sad that his perfect spot wasn’t working out.
Mama Cat saw Cosmo looking glum. “What’s wrong, little one?” she purred softly. Cosmo explained about the bookshelf and his dream of sleeping up so high. Mama Cat smiled. “Sometimes, the best things aren’t what we expect, Cosmo.”
She led Cosmo to a fluffy, warm blanket on the floor. It wasn’t a bookshelf, but it smelled like sunshine and Mama Cat’s love. Cosmo curled up, and it *was* very cozy. He wiggled his paws and kneaded the blanket.
Suddenly, a little dust bunny floated by! Cosmo batted at it playfully, then yawned a big, sleepy yawn. He realized the blanket was actually a wonderful place to be. It was soft, safe, and right next to Mama Cat.
He snuggled closer and closed his eyes. He didn’t need a high, fancy spot to have a good night’s sleep. He just needed a cozy place and someone to love.
Mama Cat licked Cosmo’s head. “See?” she whispered. “Sometimes, the simplest things are the best.” Cosmo purred and purred, feeling happy and content. He drifted off to sleep, dreaming of dust bunnies and warm blankets.
And as Cosmo slept, he learned that even when things don’t go as planned, a cozy bedtime is always possible, especially when you’re loved. Sweet dreams, little one!
