Milo was a little monkey with a very big love for bananas. Every morning, he’d swing through the jungle, searching for the brightest, yellowest bananas he could find. He wasn’t just looking for *any* bananas; he wanted the *best* bananas, all for himself!
One sunny afternoon, Milo found a whole bunch of bananas growing on a special tree. They were perfect! He quickly gathered them all into a big pile, guarding it with his arms. His friends, Coco the chimpanzee and Leo the lemur, came bouncing along.
“Wow, Milo! Those are amazing bananas!” said Coco. “Can we have just one?” Leo asked politely. Milo shook his head fiercely. “No! These are *my* bananas! I found them, and I’m not sharing!”
Coco and Leo looked sad. They hadn’t found any good bananas all day. They slowly walked away, and Milo started to peel and eat his bananas. But something strange happened. The bananas didn’t taste as good as he thought they would.
He ate one, then another, but each bite felt…lonely. He looked over at Coco and Leo, who were trying to nibble on some tough, green leaves. Milo realized that even the best bananas weren’t fun to eat when his friends weren’t happy.
Milo took a deep breath and swung over to Coco and Leo. “Wait!” he called. “I… I was wrong. I should share.” He pushed half of his banana pile towards them. Coco and Leo’s faces lit up!
“Really, Milo?” Coco asked, surprised. Milo nodded. “Yes! There are plenty for all of us.” They all sat together, peeling and enjoying the sweet, yellow bananas. Milo laughed as Leo made silly faces with a banana peel.
This time, the bananas tasted *amazing*. They tasted even better than before, because he was sharing them with his friends. He learned that having friends to share with made everything more fun.
From that day on, Milo always remembered to share. He understood that kindness and friendship were much more valuable than having all the bananas to himself. And every afternoon, the three friends could be found enjoying a banana feast together, swinging happily through the jungle.
As the sun began to set, Milo snuggled close to his mama. “Mama,” he said, “sharing makes everything better.” Mama monkey smiled and kissed his head. “It certainly does, my sweet Milo. It certainly does.” Now close your eyes, little one, and dream of sharing and friendship, just like Milo.
