Deep in the greenest valley, lived three billy goats. They were best friends and loved to play together. One sunny morning, they decided to nibble on the tasty grass on the other side of a big, scary bridge.
The bridge was so tall and wobbly, it made the goats a bit nervous. The first goat, Billy Goat Small, was very small and thought the bridge looked so high. He took a deep breath and hopped onto the bridge, carefully stepping from one rock to another.
The second goat, Billy Goat Medium, was a little taller than Billy Goat Small, but he was also quite shy. He looked down at the river below and shivered a bit. Still, he took a step onto the bridge, too.
Billy Goat Big, the biggest and strongest of the three, was not afraid. He thought the bridge was a silly thing to worry about. He took a big step and carefully followed his friends across the wobbly bridge.
Suddenly, a grumpy troll roared from underneath the bridge. "Who dares cross my bridge!" he grumbled. Billy Goat Small, Billy Goat Medium, and Billy Goat Big were all shocked. They huddled together, scared.
Billy Goat Small squeaked, "Let us go back!" Billy Goat Medium nodded. Billy Goat Big, though, thought hard about what was best. He knew that being brave could help.
Billy Goat Big took a deep breath and said calmly, "We are friends and we will cross together." Then Billy Goat Big stepped closer to the troll. Billy Goat Medium also stepped forward. Billy Goat Small, though scared, joined his friends.
The troll was surprised by the goats' courage and the fact that they would cross together. He chuckled. "Such bravery!" he said. He decided the goats were worthy and let them cross in peace.
The three billy goats happily reached the other side. They enjoyed the fresh grass and played together. Billy Goat Small felt proud for helping his friends, and Billy Goat Medium felt much braver. Billy Goat Big knew that working together was the best way to do anything.
From that day on, the three billy goats were even better friends. They knew that if they worked together, anything was possible, even crossing a wobbly bridge!
