Luna loved her glow-in-the-dark star stickers. Every night, she’d arrange them on her ceiling, creating a magical galaxy above her bed. One night, a tiny flicker of light caught her eye. It wasn't a star sticker! It was a small, glowing creature, hovering just below her ceiling.
“Hello,” Luna whispered, her eyes wide. The little glow-worm zipped closer. “I’m Lumi,” it squeaked. “I flew in through your window. Do you know the way back out?”
Luna was a little scared, but Lumi seemed friendly. “I think so,” she said, carefully getting out of bed. Lumi followed her, its tiny light bobbing gently. As they reached the window, Luna noticed it was stuck. “Oh no!” she cried. “What will we do?”
Lumi flickered nervously. “I miss my family,” it whispered. Luna knew she had to help. She remembered seeing a small screwdriver in her dad’s toolbox. “I have an idea!” she said, feeling a little braver.
She carefully climbed onto a chair and retrieved the screwdriver. With a little effort, she managed to loosen the window latch. “Hooray!” cheered Lumi, zooming towards the open window. But then, Lumi stopped. It looked back at Luna, its light dimming slightly.
“It’s too dark outside,” Lumi squeaked. “I can’t see where to go.” Luna thought for a moment. Then, she grabbed her glow-in-the-dark star stickers. “I’ll make a path for you!” she said.
Carefully, Luna stuck the stars along the windowsill and onto the branches of the tree outside her window. The stickers glowed brightly, creating a luminous pathway into the night. Lumi’s light brightened again. “You’re amazing!” it chirped.
Lumi followed the glowing path, zipping through the branches. From the tree, Lumi turned and winked its little light at Luna. “Thank you!” it squeaked before disappearing into the darkness. Luna smiled. She felt proud of herself for being brave and helping Lumi find its way home.
Back in her bed, under the shimmering glow of her star stickers, Luna felt happy and peaceful. She knew that even though she was small, she could be brave and make a big difference. And she knew she had made a new friend, somewhere out there in the sparkly night.
