Once upon a time, in a cozy little kitchen, lived a tiny mouse named Pip. One sunny afternoon, a little girl named Lily decided to bake blueberry muffins. She carefully mixed the batter and popped them into the oven. The smell was wonderful!

When the muffins were cool, Lily chose one and sat down to enjoy it. Pip peeked out from under the cupboard. He smelled the sweet blueberries and his nose twitched! Lily, being a very kind girl, offered Pip a tiny piece of her muffin.

Pip nibbled the blueberry and his eyes lit up! “Oh, thank you!” squeaked Pip. “This is delicious! If you give a mouse a blueberry, he’ll want a glass of milk to wash it down.” So Lily poured Pip a tiny drop of milk in a bottle cap.

After his milk, Pip felt very helpful. “If you give a mouse a glass of milk,” he said, “he’ll want to help tidy up!” And he did! Pip pushed crumbs into a tiny pile with his nose. Lily giggled.

Then Pip noticed the blueberries were all mixed up in the bowl. “If you give a mouse blueberries to tidy,” he said, “he’ll want to sort them by size!” So Lily and Pip sorted the blueberries, big ones in one pile, small ones in another.

Sorting blueberries made Pip think of decorating! “If you give a mouse blueberries to sort,” he said, “he’ll want to make a blueberry pattern!” Lily and Pip carefully arranged the blueberries into a beautiful swirl on a plate.

Making the pattern made Lily sleepy. “If you give a mouse a blueberry and he helps you all afternoon,” Lily yawned, “he’ll make you feel very cozy and sleepy too!”

Pip smiled. He helped Lily snuggle into her chair with a soft blanket. He even found her favorite stuffed bunny. Lily closed her eyes, feeling warm and happy. Pip curled up beside the blueberry plate, a tiny, contented mouse.

And as Lily drifted off to sleep, she knew that even the smallest act of kindness, like sharing a blueberry, could lead to a whole afternoon of fun and helpfulness. Sweet dreams!
