If You Give a Mouse a Blueberry: A Sweet Bedtime Tale

Once upon a time, in a cozy little cottage, lived a very small mouse. One sunny afternoon, a little girl named Lily was baking blueberry muffins. She had one extra, plump, juicy blueberry. She thought, 'I wonder what would happen if I gave a mouse a blueberry?' So, she carefully left it near the mouse’s tiny door.

The mouse peeked out, sniffed the air, and zoomed out to grab the blueberry! He nibbled it happily, and then… he wanted a tiny glass of milk to go with it. Lily, being very kind, poured him a little milk in a bottle cap.

After his milk, the mouse felt very helpful. He saw Lily’s toys were scattered and started to tidy them up! He pushed a little car here, stacked some blocks there, and soon everything was neat and tidy. But tidying up made him realize the floor needed sweeping!

So, he asked Lily for a tiny broom. Lily giggled and found him a small brush. The mouse swept and swept, making little dust bunnies dance. Sweeping made him thirsty again, so he asked for another tiny sip of milk. Lily happily obliged.

Then, the mouse noticed Lily looked a little sleepy. He remembered Lily reading him stories before. He scurried to find a small, colorful picture book and brought it to Lily. He pointed at the pictures with his tiny paw.

Lily smiled. Reading the story made her feel even sleepier. She yawned a big yawn. The mouse, seeing this, carefully fluffed up Lily’s pillow with a tiny piece of cotton.

Lily snuggled into her pillow, feeling warm and cozy. She thanked the little mouse for being so helpful and kind. The mouse, feeling happy and sleepy himself, curled up in a little teacup.

Lily closed her eyes, and the mouse drifted off to sleep, dreaming of blueberries and kindness. And that’s what happens if you give a mouse a blueberry… a whole lot of helpfulness, and a very sweet bedtime for everyone!

Now close *your* eyes, little one, and dream sweet dreams, just like Lily and the little mouse.
