Sleepy Sheep snuggled deep into his woolly blanket. The moon peeked through his window, casting a soft, silvery glow across his room. "Time for sleep," whispered a gentle breeze. But Sleepy Sheep wasn't quite ready. His mind was still buzzing with the day's adventures.
Suddenly, a fluffy white cloud drifted past his window. "One," Sleepy Sheep whispered, pointing his hoof. Another cloud followed, even fluffier than the first. "Two!" he said, his voice a little softer now. Counting the clouds seemed to be helping. He closed his eyes for a moment, feeling his body relax.
When he opened his eyes again, he saw a twinkling star. "Three!" Sleepy Sheep whispered. He noticed another star, shining brightly beside the first. "Four!" he murmured. With each star he counted, his eyelids grew heavier and heavier.
Five fluffy sheep clouds drifted lazily across the moon. "Five," he yawned. Six little fireflies blinked their lights in the garden below. "Six." Seven crickets chirped a sleepy tune. "Seven." He imagined himself floating on a cloud, soft and weightless.
Eight twinkling stars danced in the night sky. "Eight." Sleepy Sheep curled up tighter in his blanket. Nine fluffy sheep clouds joined the others, drifting peacefully. "Nine." He took a deep breath in, and a slow breath out. His little body began to feel heavy and warm.
Ten shimmering stars twinkled goodnight. "Ten," Sleepy Sheep whispered, his voice barely a sigh. He closed his eyes, feeling completely relaxed and peaceful. He imagined himself surrounded by fluffy clouds and twinkling stars, drifting off to a land of sweet dreams.
Soon, Sleepy Sheep was fast asleep, his soft snores echoing through the quiet room. The moon smiled down at him, and the stars continued to twinkle, watching over him as he slept soundly. And as the sun began to rise, Sleepy Sheep continued to dream, surrounded by fluffy clouds and twinkling stars, until it was time to wake up and start a brand new day.
