Luna the Unicorn Learns to Share Her Sparkle

3 min read ・ Age 5

Luna was a very special unicorn. Her horn didn't just shine, it *sparkled*! Not just any sparkle, but rainbow sparkle that made flowers bloom and berries grow sweeter. Luna loved her sparkle, and she loved making the forest beautiful. But Luna didn't like to share her sparkle. She thought if she shared, she wouldn't have enough for herself.

One sunny afternoon, Barnaby Bear came to Luna, looking sad. “My blueberry bush isn’t growing any berries,” he mumbled. “I wanted to make a pie for my mama’s birthday.” Luna wanted to help, but she hesitated. Sharing her sparkle meant it would be a little less bright for her. She worried about that.

Rosie Rabbit hopped by, her ears drooping. “The carrots in my garden are so small,” she sighed. “They won’t be enough for a good soup.” Luna felt a little tug in her heart. She looked at Barnaby and Rosie, both so disappointed. She remembered how happy it made her to see the forest bloom with her sparkle.

Taking a deep breath, Luna lowered her head and let a little rainbow sparkle drift towards Barnaby’s blueberry bush. *Poof!* The bush instantly burst with plump, juicy blueberries. Barnaby’s face lit up! Then, she shared a bit more sparkle with Rosie’s carrot patch. *Poof!* Big, orange carrots popped up from the ground.

Luna was surprised. Sharing her sparkle didn’t make *her* sparkle dimmer at all! In fact, seeing Barnaby and Rosie so happy made her feel even brighter inside. It was a warm, fuzzy feeling she hadn’t felt before.

Soon, other forest friends came – Finley Fox, Penelope Porcupine, and Oliver Owl. Luna happily shared her sparkle with each of them, helping their gardens grow and their homes feel cozy. The forest was filled with laughter and joy.

As the sun began to set, Luna realized something wonderful. Sharing her sparkle hadn’t made it disappear; it had multiplied the happiness in the forest. And that, she discovered, was the most magical feeling of all. She snuggled close to Barnaby and Rosie, her horn glowing softly. Sharing wasn't scary, it was special.

From that day on, Luna continued to share her sparkle with everyone. She learned that kindness and friendship were even more beautiful than the brightest rainbow, and that a little sparkle shared could make the whole world a happier place. Now close your eyes, little one, and dream of sharing your own sparkle with the world.
