Once upon a time, in a warm little house, lived three very small kittens. There was Patches, who had spots like little buttons. There was Whiskers, whose whiskers wiggled with curiosity. And there was Mittens, with white paws that looked like tiny gloves. All day long, they played chase, tumbled over soft rugs, and explored every nook and cranny.
As the sun began to dip below the window, casting long, sleepy shadows, Mama Cat stretched out on the rug. 'My dear little ones,' she purred softly. 'The day is done, and it is time for small kittens to rest their paws and close their eyes.'
But Patches, Whiskers, and Mittens still felt a little bit wiggly! 'Just five more minutes, Mama?' chirped Whiskers, batting playfully at Mama Cat's tail. Mittens pounced on a dust bunny, and Patches rolled happily on his back.
Mama Cat smiled. 'Alright,' she said gently. 'But let's find our cozy basket first. It's waiting for us, all warm and soft. Maybe you can play a quiet finding game on the way?' The kittens thought that sounded like a lovely idea.
First, Patches found the softest spot on the blanket pile near the basket. It felt like sleeping on a cloud. 'This is so fluffy!' he purred, kneading his little paws.
Next, Whiskers sniffed around the edge of the basket. He discovered a loose string on the side and batted at it gently, back and forth, back and forth, until his eyes started to feel heavy.
Mittens, meanwhile, climbed right inside the basket. She burrowed deep into the warm wool lining. 'Oh!' she meowed happily. 'This is the warmest, coziest place in the whole house!'
Mama Cat watched her little ones finding their favorite spots. When they were all settled inside, she curled her long body around them, making the basket feel even snugglier and safer.
The three kittens snuggled close to Mama Cat and to each other. They could feel her gentle purr rumbling like a soft, comforting song. The wiggly feelings started to fade away.
Patches yawned a big, wide yawn. Whiskers tucked his nose under Mittens's tail. Mittens closed her eyes, listening to Mama Cat's purr. Soon, all three little kittens were fast asleep in their cozy basket, dreaming sweet, sleepy dreams until morning.
