Pip was a little dumpling, soft and round, who lived in a big, cozy kitchen. The sun was starting to dip below the window, and the kitchen light was getting soft and yellow. It was almost Pip’s bedtime. But Pip didn't have a special bed yet. He felt a tiny bit cool on the big wooden counter. "I need a warm, cozy spot for my bedtime nap," he thought.
Gently, Pip waddled along the smooth counter. He saw the big, shiny mixing bowl. It looked like a big cave! But it felt cold inside. "Too chilly," Pip mumbled, and waddled on. He saw a stack of clean plates. They were smooth, but too flat and hard for a soft little dumpling to sleep on. "Not cozy enough," he sighed.
Next, Pip saw the toaster, standing tall and quiet. It looked interesting, but there were little holes, and it didn't look soft at all. "Definitely not right," Pip decided. He kept waddling, past the sugar pot and the cookie jar. Everything seemed either too hard, too cold, or too high up. Pip started to feel a little sleepy, but still he needed that perfect cozy spot.
Then, near the quiet teapot, Pip saw something wonderful. It was the tea cozy! The tea cozy was made of soft, padded fabric, like a warm hug for the teapot. It draped down, making a little tent of warmth. It looked so inviting and soft. "Oh!" whispered Pip, his round little body giving a happy wobble.
Very carefully, Pip nestled himself right under the edge of the tea cozy. Oh, it was just perfect! The fabric was so soft against his dumpling skin, and the trapped warmth felt like a gentle blanket wrapping all around him. It was quiet and peaceful in his new cozy spot. He felt safe and snug, like he belonged right there.
Pip snuggled down even deeper, feeling the warmth soak into him. His little dumpling eyes started to feel heavy. He wasn't cold or searching anymore. He had found his very own, perfectly cozy bedtime spot. He closed his eyes, feeling happy and warm, and drifted off to sleep, dreaming soft, round, warm dreams under the gentle tea cozy.
